I’m thrilled and thankful for the overwhelming support for our new venture. I’ve wanted to bring ExCyte to life for a long time and I believe it will play a important part in the education, networking, and linking of with the global cytometry community. The energy that abounds when we’re with other professionals is exceptional and builds this crazy synergy (though I hate that word) that is so positive and buoying. This gives us the impetus to dream bigger and bigger, to solve problems, offer all we’ve learned about cytometry, and put it out there to enrich anyone else who wants to ride the train.
It seems nothing is impossible, everything is accessible, that rather than ‘I win by your loss’ we’re moving to more professional ‘we win when we all win’. It’s become cliché to say ‘win win’ but I don’t believe that. I believe ‘business’ and science should work together to the benefit eachother. From new fluorochromes (Brilliant Violet dyes), more laser choices, and new paradigms like mass cytometry, the cytometry community has continued to change. This change requires new ways of thinking, new ways of planning experiments, new ways of data analysis, and news ways of teaching and learning best practices.

I’m excited about all of the possibilities and opportunities and in the flow cytometry field and I’m excited to continue working with all of the great people in this field.
